Why is it that when I try to get a shot like this I end up with a disappearing tail? Superb photograph!

Lovely Karen, I’ve been enjoying seeing this bird around the garden again. It’s been ages since I’ve taken any bird photos… must get out there! Congrats on your nomination for the best UK blog… well deserved

Simply gorgeous. Gorgeous, and simple. And everything others have said.
I zoomed in on a pair of pigeons very cosy n private on a branch above me, this morning, but they weren’t as helpful – my photo will only remind me how lucky i was to spot them, not show anyone else how comfy they looked.

I meant to say it’s great you’re using CommentLuv. What a clever-but-obvious (isn’t that the definition of ingenious?) idea it is.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and thanks for the good wishes re the Blotanical awards, much appreciated.
This robin was in a customers garden – and he was fearless! I was weeding under the shrubs and he was so close to my hands waiting for the worms that I dug up. I just used my normal camera lens – lying on the ground under a shrub!
So beautiful! That’s one of the best bird pictures I’ve ever seen! Those must have been some really tasty worms he was waiting for.

Fabulous photo … is it a very big lens, or a lot of time invested in taming the robin? (Or both?). Whatever, well done and thanks for sharing
