Take one grey, wet seaside town, with a nearly deserted beach;-
Add one sunny, independent two and three quarter year old grandson;-
Result! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

I love beaches deserted in the winter months and that looks one happy kid!
I’d be happy as a lark to on that beach!

There’s nothing quite like an empty beach, out of season. When we lived near the sea we used to love going for walks along the beach on Christmas day.

Is it really that long ago since you were posting new arrival piccies? He looks as if he is having the greatest fun and I imagine that you were too Karen.
the greatest gift of all
Who needs sunshine anyway/ Especially when you’ve got a grin like that…

Ahhh – he’s gorgeous. Is that Barmouth? Looks familiar from our hols – it was just as windy in September.

Wonderful, hard to beat the pleasure of watching children play on a beach, and there is something magical about beaches in winter, as I am discovering.

What an infectious smile he has!
Such a lovely age!
He looks cute. I never appreciated how much pleasure a grandson could give until my first one arrived eight months ago. I have the pleasure without all the responsibility of being the parent

Karen, how wonderful to see that you live in a part of North Wales I love – I’m a huge fan of the Edwardian castles and Harlech is probably my favourite of them all. We have camped at Talsarnau several times and thoroughly enjoy exploring the area, even though the weather wasn’t exactly what you’d call tropical. I was sandblasted on Barmouth beach last April! Happy days…
