Not a lot of change in the garden this month – although it is looking more “straw like”. Truth be told, I am surprised the garden was still here this morning – we had a huge squall in the night. Gale force wind and rain hammered down from every direction. When I woke [...] Looking back, October was lovely. Of course we had days of high wind and rain – but we also had glorious sunshine and in October the garden performed the way I had hoped it would in September. However for the past few weeks this has been my garden view:- Yes I have [...] Well – what an end to September! We have had glorious weather, so lovely that I went swimming in the sea on the 2nd October. Unbelievable. When I say swimming, I do in fact mean blobbing and flopping about in the breakers, which were quite a good size. It was sort of freezing [...] The end of June is a funny old time of year really – perhaps more so this year because we have had such a rubbish May and June – but the last week or so there has been some warmth in the air, and the garden responds. At the end of June, the garden looses [...] Well actually not so merry in the garden. Evening view of the garden yesterday. The wind has been dreadful – incessant for the past month – although to-day, as I write this, it has dropped and the stillness is wonderful. Wind is our worst enemy and it has done the garden no good at all, [...] |
