While other parts of the UK have snow, here at “Costa del Dyffryn Ardudwy” a tulip popped up!

And we walked on the beach in the sunshine! Who could ask for more. Sorry everyone with snow.
Bless it!! What a star the tulip is.
We have been lucky with the weather, where we used to live was always the first to get it and it stayed around forever….
H,
Wow, and I thought my Tulips were growing well! Man, that’s very early (unless it’s an early Tulip, of course)
wow that seems early, lovely to see though, here at costa del hebrides it was sunny today and warm enough to garden, Frances
An early bird and what a glorious colour. No white stuff here either Karen – just icicles
How lovely and what a beautiful colour. That does seem very early though. My tulips are just poking through. This cold spell seems to have slowed everything in the garden down. We had some snow on Saturday but it has all gone now.We are rapidly running out of wood for the wood burner so hoping the cold doesn’t last too much longer.

Isn’t nature just wonderful!
My tulips have lots of leaves but I fear they are blind this year so I will just enjoy looking at everyone elses.

And, it couldn’t be prettier!
Seriously! What’s that doing there? And there’s me pleased to notice tulip leaves sticking up four inches from the soil. Hope it doesn’t regret sticking its head out so soon. Meanwhile, it must give your heart a lift to see it.

Well that is January over and obviously the tulips like February just like you do. It was a good day for painting, sun was out, just a bit cold.
Seeing your tulip made my heart go pitter-pat. I may have to buy some forced bulbs in order to make it through til May. (mixing our languages are we? hmmm?)

I have only one shoot showing from a plethora of bulbs I planted in two half barrels I insisted come with us when we moved to the Small Country. There may be more shoots but I don’t know as they’ve been covered in a fine layer of snow which fell over a week ago and has frozen solid due to temperatures going as low as -15.5. Another dusting last night but it’s so much warmer today – only -3.5!

Gosh, that’s early. I have iris reticulata, snowdrops and even a couple of hyacinth just starting to show, the tulips were on their way, although nowhere near as developed as yours, but I fear that a lot of them will get nipped by this intense cold and not flower well.

Blimey! That IS early. Makes your heart smile, though, doesn’t it? Jan
Yikes, I think it might be in for a bit of a shock… How lovely though.

Wow! Karen that’s amazing, I can’t even see any leaves yet, but maybe they are there under a foot of snow! Christina

What? I have a few spikes of foliage and a lot of snowdrops. How come you have a tulip? Do you swear it is a real one and not one of those soap powder jobs?
