About

The Artist’s Garden is situated in Dyffryn Ardudwy, on the West coast of Wales. United Kingdom.

The main aspect of the garden is West – this means we can take full advantage of the sun.  It also means that the biggest challenge in this garden is the prevailing South Westerly winds from the sea.

Windbreaks and wind tolerant plants are a requirement.

We moved into this house and garden in the Summer of 2006.  So far all our energies have been directed towards the garden.  Our first task was to create the Kitchen Garden for growing our own Vegetables.

This year – 2008, our focus has been on the hard landscaping.  Making paths through the garden and marking out areas for flowerbeds

In 2009 – our attention will be on the bottom left hand side of the garden with the decision still to be made – Fruit cage or Poly-tunnel?

The main area of garden is about 130 feet long by 45 feet wide.  In addition we have the Kitchen Garden and a large driveway.   As the house is directly on the street – our “Front Garden” is only a couple of feet in depth.

Our soil is fertile – but stony.  We seem to have spent the past two and half years “breaking rock”!

At the bottom of the Garden is my studio. I am both a textile artist and gardener.  Welcome to  “An Artist’s Garden”
