No images I am afraid because my computer died on me a couple of weeks ago.
Kindly, No1 son came and collected it and has taken it to an Apple store for repair.
Fingers crossed it is just the power supply – which is fixable and not the logic board, which is expensive.
Although Shedman says I can use his anytime – and has set me up on his computer, it’s not the same (well its a PC running windows) and I feel as if I have lost my right arm.
No computer does mean that I have several more hours in my day to do weeding! As I am not e-mailing, reading blogs, tweeting or googling things.
I am amazed at how I had got into the habit of checking ’stuff’ on the Internet, or having a little thought about a plant – looking it up and finding half an hour had passed in a flash.
Hopefully I will be back online, in 2 or 3 weeks.
Oh! and in-case you were wondering – I have always kept my images on an external hard-drive … phew

Poor you!
Hope its sorted soon.
And cheaply.
Best

Being without a computer is such an adjustment now that we’re all used to being in touch, blogging and googling everything. At least you have another in the house. Our internet connection went down for 24 hours and I really noticed just how much time I spent on it. Since then, I’ve been consciously cutting back and trying to spend more time in the studio or on other things. So maybe it was a blessing in disguise. That said, hope your computer is back in action soon.

Been through this just a couple of weeks ago, when someone spilled coffee on my laptop at a meeting. Thank goodness for good insurance…I hope you’re up and running again quickly.

Oh, goodness, Karen. Fingers crossed for you, that it’s easily fixable. When I last had a mac, my sister dropped it, rendering the screen useless — and we were living as starving artists, neither of us with the cash to get it fixed. It’s terrible to be held hostage by technology.
I’ll be looking forward to your return in approximately two weeks. Meanwhile, I hope you get a refreshing break!

I was wondering … it’s happened to me in the past and now I have a backup netbook because I found I wanted to throw things at the telly when I didn’t have the internet to seduce me away from the rubbish my lovely family seem to enjoy watching! Although, to be fair, my PC vanished in November, which is a rotten time as there’s very little to do in the garden. If it had gone missing in June I might not even have noticed!

Ive just been around Karen’s garden and it looks lovely. There has been a lot of planting going on, so she should have some beautilful pictures to post when her computer is fixed. It is a beautiful tranquil place to sit and just take in. love P
That’s not good news about your mac and you may be already using this service but a great way to store or move your files around is dropbox, everything is stored on the net. I have everything stored online then I have dropbox installed on my three machines, which are in different places. I never have to worry if the data is ok and they all pull from one place so it’s always up to date no matter which machine I use. You can also have it on your iphone too.
Hello Karen. It is surprising how we become reliant on them isn’t it
Hope you are back soon. In the meantime don’t overdo the weeding
