As I missed last months GBBD it seems ages since I went carefully around the garden to check what was actually in flower.
Last May I was to busy to do a bloom day post, and now I regret not having made the effort.
The weather this spring has consisted of warm days and cold nights, with very little wind or rain
This means that the tulips, which I have previously written about have lasted for ages,
Along with all the blossom on the trees – no strong south westerlies from the sea to scatter petals all over the garden.
At last, after 4 years, I feel that the planting is really taking shape.
Some of the flower beds are starting to look full and lush
And the plants are begining to mingle.
To see what is in bloom in “An Artist’s Garden” this May please click on the picture below.
Thanks as ever go to Carol – May Dreams Garden for hosting the GBBD phenomenon

Some familiar and dear friends there especially the dandelions
It must be a tad warmer in your neck of the woods Karen – not an astrantia flower in sight here although usually out by now.

Dear Karen, you have very beutiful flowers in your garden! I liked a lot primula having layered flowers and veronica gentianoides. You said there is acidic soil – is the black sambucus growing in acidic soil? Because I wanted to plant it in my garden as well – what about scent – as I remember it is having some kind of lemon scent – is it possible to sense it in the garden while it’s blooming?
I add you to my blogroll to keep in touch better.
More hugs!

Hi Dobby here – lovely slideshow – but really I am just testing my new blogger identity – so that I can leave comments on other garden blogs

Amazing! Who knew there was a Welsh poppy?
One day I’ll do a slide show too…
Lovely. I like the colour of the double hellebore. You’ve got some great plant combinations

Your alliums and aquilegas are ahead of mine and your Salvia seems to be in flower very early but I do love it.
I have some Ravenswing seedlings so hopefully next year I will have some lovely flowers as well

Lovely photos, Karen, and you’ve managed to ID something for me – I have a photo of a Cerinthe taken in a garden somewhere and had been wondering what it was – now I know
I’ve been meaning to ask, do you have your own proper software for doing your slideshows, or do you use one of the free photo-hosting sites? I’m trying to work out a way of posting my garden visit photos and have been playing with slideshows – not found any I really like so far, but I do like the way you do yours, using one photo as a link to another page, and the way that page displays – if you do it via a photo site, please could you tell me which it is?

I think May is the best time for gardens. I haven’t done much in the garden this year so got a surprise when I finally took a look – so much in flower. I see you have Welsh Poppies and Dandelions too!
