I am thinking of getting some padding for my back at the Spring show to protect it from all the slapping that will be going on!!
I do love your comic strips, they are so imaginative and creative, which I had the talent to do the same.
See you in 2 weeks
Helen

I will be offering you all my “virtual” backslaps-sorry I will be missing it. Quite a storm stirred up in the blogosphere. He he.
Judith´s last blog ..fritillaries
I am sorry that we wont be meeting up Judith, another time perhaps?
K
I hope so-I am sure there will be more of these get togethers.
Judith´s last blog ..fritillaries
Dull? Backslapping? Hmmm, we are not in on the joke here, Karen. Could you enlighten us, please, since we also must be a member of the boring club. Can’t wait! May the skies be clear and the airports as well.

Frances
Frances´s last blog ..Tulips 2010
Frances – I will e-mail you later to-day. Rest assured, you are a member of the boring club
I am so happy that the planes are now flying again
K
What a gentle and funny response to petulance and bile. No wonder I like you. Looking forward to seeing you again and to meeting all the others.
Elizabeth, thank you for the sweet comment – gentle and funny is exactly what I was aiming for – see you soon
K
I’ve been feeling a bit fed up and put out over the last twenty four hours. I clicked through to the Matthew Appleby article yesterday afternoon because a tantalising snippet came up on my screen saying he was going to be talking about boring blog . . . so I thought it was going to be all about me! (Esther’s Boring Garden Blog). I was very excited. Can you imagine the disappointment! Not a boring blogger or boring blog in sight, just stuff about interesting people with real gardening blogs who will be having fun meeting up at Malvern.
I reassure myself that it only proves my corner of the market is secure. Since I’m not even going to Malvern, I must be even more boring than everyone who is! Hurray! (One has to keep up one’s standards, you know!)
Esther
Esther Montgomery´s last blog ..STOP PRESS – NEW BLOG!
Esther – thanks for leaving a comment – I am so sorry that you were so disappointed – perhaps you are just not boring enough? Although truthfully I find your blog anything but boring and think perhaps you misnamed it
K
I saw the Matthew Appleby blog post and gagged. How dismissive. And so current-trendy… writing in a slam argumentative style to generate interest, now that’s boring and predictable. Loved your cartoon, very creative!
Laurrie´s last blog ..Why I plant trees
Laurrie – thanks for taking time to leave a comment, there does seem to be a trend these days towards edgy, argumentative style, very sad I think. Glad you liked the cartoon
K
Brilliant Karen – so glad that you included lots of colourful pictures as I do find wordy blog posts quite beyond me

Anna´s last blog ..Wings
I know Anna – it is hard when blog writing goes on for more than 4 lines – then I have to use my finger to trace the words on the screen otherwise I get lost. (sigh)
Glad you liked it
K
You are brilliant. I so heart you and all the other backslapping bloggers that will be there. Wish I could be there too, but I’ll be cheering you on from here. I think a pie in the face of the prat who thinks he’s a writer (MA) would be a fine thing. The verbal pies in the face have been magnificent.
jodi (bloomingwriter)´s last blog ..Wordless Wednesday: Duckies went a-courtin’ in our backyard, uh huh!
Jodi, I so wish you were going to be at Malvern with us too – we will raise a glass to you and all the other garden bloggers who are not there. Glad you enjoyed the comic.
K
I hope you have a great time, Karen. Call me crazy, but I thought “artist” was the absolute best job that anyone could have.
Love the comic strip idea with the talking, giggling flower chorus, and very nicely executed!
Meredith´s last blog ..wordless wednesday: elf hat
Hi Meredith – Yes Artist is absolutely the best job anyone could possibly have … although possibly not the most lucrative (in my case) but I think working as a gardener is a rather lovely job too – which is good, as I do! So glad you enjoyed the comic strip.
K
magic!
Thank you Mark, I also enjoyed your post/response as well
Karen – an edition of your comic is always a special occasion, but you’ve outdone yourself this time. I and at least 49 other ‘dull and boring’ bloggers salute you

VP´s last blog ..How Advertising Works in Chippenham #16
Thank you VP – I know you always appreciate the comics and I am glad you enjoyed this one.
Hurrah! Made me laugh, and I am more than happy to be classed as ‘dull and boring’ and ‘illiterate’, when I am amongst such witty, talented, kind and thoughtful kindred spirits.
Ya Boo Sucks to our dissenter! *thumbs nose*

Well Zoe,
You, me Elizabeth and Dobby are going to have a splendid dull boring and illiterate time together in our B&B
So happy to have made you laugh
K
A beautiful comic strip and so perfectly fitting with its gentle humour. You must have been up all night doing it!!! Love it.
Arabella Sock´s last blog ..Health and Safety – UXB
err … well not quite ALL night – but pretty late, yes!
So glad you liked it Arabella – one day we should get the Health and Safety Dogs and Mrs Grumpy together, they would have a ball!
K
I wanna be a boring blogger too. ::pout:: Hee! Your cartoon is priceless — wish I could join you all.
Nancy Bond´s last blog ..What Makes a Post “Legitimately Good”?
Oh Nancy I am sorry – I am sure we could make you an honorary boring blogger
I wish you could join us to and thanks so much for leaving a great comment.
K
Inspired! x
HappyMouffetard´s last blog ..Wordless Wednesday – moss on old apple tree
Thanks Happy M

K
LOL! I’m dull too, but I guess I’m too dull to go to Malvern. I wish I could join you there to refute your detractor as far as the illiteracy claim. (I’ve used the word “abattoir” in a post.) Making fun of the opposition is always the best response.
Mr. McGregor’s Daughter´s last blog ..Picture This: Green World
No!! you really used the word “abattoir” in a post? shame on you, that is far to difficult a word for dull garden bloggers to read, let alone understand.
I wish you could be joining us Mr.McGD – but don’t worry, with 50 of us to twitter and blog – you probably will feel like you were there.
Thanks for dropping in
K
Just to let you know there are a couple of awards for you on my blog, I hope you will accept them, but you are under no obligation. I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your blog.
Su´s last blog ..Tulips and awards
Su, thank you very much for the awards – and I am delighted to know that you enjoy my blog
K
Brilliant. Great fun. I am more than ever sorry that I can’t make it to Malvern. I consider myself boring, dull and semi-illiterate by association. xxx
Gilly – I am going to have to make little badges for all the associate members of boring, dull and semi-illiterate Malvern Meeters
ummm does that spell anything
AMBDSMM
No, shame.
Thanks for taking time to leave a comment and I am glad you enjoyed the comic.
K
I am proud to be going to Malvern with 49 bloggers. I don’t blog myself, so guess I must be literate and not boring! See you all 2 weeks tomorrow.
If MA is there, I hope he has a kevlar vest. I’m told my tongue can be very sharp. He reminds me of those old fashioned radio phone-in show presenters who had no real views of their own. They would say anything to be controversial on purpose as it theoretically increased their ratings. Personally, I always turned the radio off.
Love the comic strip, so I suppose we have something to thank him for!
Dobby – you promised me that you would be on your best behavior if we went to Malvern ….

I am afraid that the fact you do not have a blog does not exclude you from being dull etc etc etc – sorry.
Glad you enjoyed the comic
K
Brilliant, Karen. You may be semi-literate, but you draw an exremely good cartoon.
Looking forward to seeing you at Malvern xx
And I’m so illiterate, I can’t spell exTremely!
Victoria´s last blog ..More dash than ash
Haha – I may be semi-literate, I am however extremely dyslexic and would not have noticed the typo if you hadn’t mentioned it!
I am really looking forward to meeting you Victoria and I am glad you enjoyed the cartoon
K
This is awesome!
Thank you DGGirl – and thanks for leaving a comment
K
I so enjoyed this, but what do I know? I’m incomparably dull too. Here’s a pat on the back from lil ole me.~~Dee
All pats on the back gratefully received Dee – thank you
K
Sticks and stones will break our bones, but names will… simply drive more traffic to our blogs.

Glad you liked it Dawn, and thanks for your comments

I realy thought gardening was a real job, thats why I cant do it. Mind you my magnolia is still alive at the moment!
Just keep it well watered while it is still a new planting P and your grandchildren will enjoy it as well as you
K
Regret giving him one more visit. But I like to know what we’re talking about. Having read that – as someone else said – we ain’t missed much.
Have missed your cartoons, haven’t seen one for a while. And I really FOUGHT to see this one. No pictures coming thru yesterday.
PS maybe me and Esther and The Can’t Be Theres will get an ‘I was at Meet at Malvern’ cartoon?
Hi Elephants Eye – I will drop you a quick e-mail to put you in the picture.
Sorry about the images not coming through – I dont know why that happens sometimes
K
My comment didn’t go through and it was so good, too! Love the cartoon and can’t understand how MA and others of his writing ilk can possibly think they are clever…gail See you soon!
Gail´s last blog ..Clay and Limestone’s Happy Trinity
Ooops, sorry about the comment – perhaps my blog is playing up a bit, I will have to look into it at some point …
I dont really understand the writing either, I do find it rather sad.
see you soon xxx
K
I came across some poison hemlock in my backyard yesterday, maybe we can wish it upon some others… but I stop at making tea for those who insult my friends
wayne´s last blog ..my teaching blog comes back
I have never thought of gardeners as boring – I think it’s more of a comment on those who don’t take the time to appreciate the horticultural humour (often dry) and the hidden gems of discussion that are carefully concealed from the brash upstart – and I loved the cartoon, it made me cackle like mad!
All Seasons Gardener´s last blog ..Wordless Wednesday – Forget Me Not
I had to go read the guy’s blog to see what was going on. I get the impression that he may have been lashing out because he wasn’t invited. It’s right there in black and white. I always love visiting Mrs. Grumpy, mainly ’cause I keep thinking that I’M Mrs. Grumpy.
