Joey – How on earth do you manage to do the hearts?
You are right – building the new kitchen garden is a perfect Valentine gift

Ha ha! That’s brilliant Karen. Did he buy you a bunch of flowers from a garage forecourt for Valentines? Its a capital offence you know, you’d be perfectly within your rights to compost him if he did!

(lol) – Fortunately our local garage forecourt doesn’t sell flowers – hopefully he will get me chocolate – any kind I don’t mind – I love it, but only allow myself to eat it on Fridays otherwise I would eat it every day of the week.

Now if he only needs to sings in answer…”here I am, here I am” to the tune of Where is Thumbkin (do you know that from your childhood? gail

You certainly know how to give me a small panic attack. Please don’t compost him until he has done my few jobs! Do you need a new tyre for the wheelbarrow? It has certainly been working overtime. Looking forward to seeing all the beds overflowing with lettuce, carrots, leeks, beans of all varieties etc.
This is looking rather interesting….can’t wait to see how this all comes together and what will be growing. Your last post may even inspire me to try to start up some seeds too. I used to start from seed and for some reason, probably lack of time, haven’t for a long time. Happy Valentines Day!

Can’t wait to see this develop over time! Looks like a lot of fun. If it ever stops raining here long enough to build, my new veggie garden might take shape!

Glad to hear that a nasty fate has not befallen that most handy Shedman. The raised beds are looking great – you must be looking forward to planting them up. Do you know what’s going where yet?

Happy Valentine’s Day for sure! Who needs chocolate (did I say that?) when Shedman does something like THIS?
It’ll be fun to follow your progress, here.

Hi Karen, the grass in the lower right corner positively glows! This garden is the stuff dreams are made of, and the stone in the buildings makes my heart sing. I see a little stone on the lower edge as well. I would never want to leave such a garden. That soil looks good enough to eat.

Even in its in-progress form the garden has a wonderful structure to it with the thin sticks looking like little sketches in the landscape.

What an incredible veggie garden you’ll have. I can’t wait to see the finished product. The design is outstanding and looks wonderful with the beautiful stone buildings.
That’s a bit stark!

First the photo of the sprouts, then a photo of a building project–both warm my heart on a cold winter day.

Karen,

I am envious of your mild temperatures that allow you to be out in the garden. Here, everything is still covered in a wintry blanket. I look forward to seeing the fruits of your labor. Get your hands extra dirty for me, won’t you?
