As my vertigo is better than it was – and the osteopath suspects that the way I have been hunching over the computer probably contributed to it – it is more important that ever that I get out and walk – so Dobby, P and I went onto the beach for our weekend walk.
It was not a nice day, it was bitingly cold and rather grey but I was really, really surprised to find so much ice on the beach, I don’t think that I have seen ice on the beach before.
My Dog Merlin, has certainly never seen ice on the beach before and it took him somewhat by surprise when his legs slipped and slid as he was trotting along.
I know that I have left comments on a variety of blogs this week saying that we don’t have much snow in our garden, but we are surrounded by snow covered mountains and while they may look lovely with their blanket of snow -
I am fed up of playing this game now and wish it would get a bit warmer!
Understandably we were the only people out to-day, apart from three small dots on the horizon of the top picture, very hardy souls.

Wow, ice on the sea, very interesting indeed!
I love your dog, how cute??!!!

What a beautiful setting Karen! I have never seen ice on a beach either … rather like salty chips I would guess. You live in a gorgeous part of the world from the walks you have shown. I know the ocean can be brutal in the winter… but in a couple of weeks or so it will be warmer. Lovely photos of your stunning countryside bordering seaside.

Hi Karen, glad the vertigo is better. Hopefully things will get warmer, and you will be able to walk soon.Lovely pix of the icy sea
The ice was amazing, we chose the beach to walk on, because we thought it would be safer than fighting with the ice on the paths. Merlyn was funny sliding along on the ice.Ive still got ice outside my front door in my car park, my husband decided to move his car this morning and hit mine, as if it wasnt sick enough already. Must have been a funny sight me running back and forth with a buckets of hot water to clear the ice around his wheels so he could move his car back. They looked just like they were kissing!!
I dont think I have ever seen ice on a beach before – how weird.
Personally I am sick of the snow, another day working at home today and the novelty has worn off. Treking to the station tomorrow just to feel like I have done something.

Hi Karen Your photos are lovely especially the one with the snow caped mountains in the background what a beautiful place you live but then I often think in the UK every county has it’s own beauty and most of us even in buit up areas are not too far away from lovely scenery.
I am sorry to hear about your back, nerve pain is the pits well any pain is, from she who is at last off all antibiotics and any medication and has no pain or muscle weakness, so with a lot to celebrate.
Hope you soon recover and this snow finally abaits.

It was a lovely walk, but very cold on the face (the only bit of me you could see) and so glad that you are feeling better.
P – I have your thermals. Hope the cars are ok. I finally got my car home tonight only to find more snow is forecast. Sorry.
Oh I am so sorry about your veritgo, Karen. We have suffered with it before too, so frightening and annoying and everything else. Going for a walk, however frigid, must have felt good, just to get out. Yes, cold and snow, go away now, like fish and houseguests, after three days you begin to stink.

We regularly get icy beaches. My husband, David, and l were over to the shore a couple of weeks ago. Freezing cold!
I rarely get to sit at the computer for a long stretch at a time. I am up and down, doing chores, and fetching things, all the while.
Glad you are getting better.
Glad you are feeling better. I am surprised about the ice on the beach – what with salt saturating everything. It must be a special strain of salty seaside ice

Merlin is one of those dogs that makes me instantly smile when I see him. He looks delighted with himself. Icy beaches are on order for later this week, as the cold snap has just found us.

Wow, ice on the beach. I never realized that could happen. Merlin is so cute, I just want to snuggle him. Lovely photos! If the light is a bit drear lately in all our photos, it’s not our fault, dang it.
Take care and stay warm!
