I have been struggling with feeling under the weather for a few days now – but this morning I gave in, as I feel quite yuck.
So I am afraid my Garden Bloggers Bloom Day post for July consists of a variety of flowers currently blooming in the garden;- stuck in a vase.
I am quietly happy with my arrangement, because when I look back to July last year – I had no flowers, and gave my bloom day attempt C+
Included in the “arrangement” are;-
Allium sphaerocephalom, Crocosmia, both Lucifer and regular momtbretia. Dahlias:- ‘Bishop of Llandaff”, “Bishops children” (grown from seed), ‘Arabian night”
Dill. 2 types of ornamental grass. Poppy seed heads and flowers. Zinnias ‘yoga’, Cosmos ‘polidor’. Rudbeckia ‘green wizard’. Pink Astilbe. Penstemon ‘raven’. Echinacea ‘green envy’
Buddleja ‘black knight’. A biannual verbascum, who’s name I forget. Verbena bonariensis. Marguerites. Stachys (Lambs’ ears). Hebe. Echinops.
Oh and let us not forget Rudbeckia ‘green wizard’ which I like for flowering arranging, even though it gets called bad names.
I am so grateful that Carol, May Dreams Gardens continues to host this amazing meme. It is such a good way to check the gardens progress and also see where the gaps are.
When I look at these images above – I was struck back the lack of blue flowers growing in the garden. Actually I do have one – a blue Agapanthus, but it is only a baby with, one flower stalk, and there was no way I was going to pick that! So when I visit other folks GBBD posts this month – I will be keeping my eyes open for July flowers that are blue.

I give this year’s bouquet an A+. It’s full of life! I love the agaphantus bud, stunning photo!!
Thank you for the A+ Lzyjo – much appreciated
I am also quite pleased with the agapanthus – it was one of those plants that I bought on the spur of the moment!
K
Yep Karen… I may even increase the previous rating to a A++!
Great plants, great arrangement, great photos… so all that’s left is to wish you a belated ‘Great’ Bloom Day… spookily we posted almost at the same time

Love the bouquet. It’s the same thing I try to do with my Bloom Day Scans. I’d do the vase thing except I don’t bring flowers inside due to family allergies.
Craig @ Ellis Hollow’s last blog post..Bloom day scans
Your bloom day scans are wonderful. Actually I often leave my arrangements in the garden – because the pollen is too much for me in the house – especially the sweet peas. Thanks for dropping in.

I’m sorry you’ve been feeling yuck too! But your vase of blooms is wonderful, drenched with colour. I stopped doing Bloom Day but I love seeing what others have in bloom.

Thanks Jodi – it always seems such a swizz to feel rotten in the summer, fortunately it is raining hard here and I am not missing much. Glad you liked the colours in the arrangement.

Stunnning photos, Karen. Get well soon … summer is short and calling
Thanks Joey – yes summer does call, but as I love August and September, for me the best is yet to come.
K
Beautiful blooms! Get well soon.

Thanks Jill-O, I think the fact that I have actually got some flowers in the garden this year makes me smile.

What a wonderful bouquet! That is my idea of what bouquets should look like, abundanza!

Your bouquet is the “Reader’s Digest” version of what’s happening outdoors. And it must be Beautiful Indeed out there! Blue flowers in July? I’ve hosta blooming all over…
I missed the GBBD this month (TOO BUSY!), but will try in August.

I think a vase of flowers is a good way to show what’s bloomimg in the garden, especially at this time of year when there is so much happening. Hope you feel better soon – not the piggy flu I hope!
easygardener’s last blog post..What will we have today?
Beautiful! I hope that looking at the vase will make you feel better more quickly.

I for one think this is a marvelous way to celebrate July blooms. The students and I made an arrangement for the good women who work in the education office. hope you feel better.

Lovely blooms. And another advantage of picking them and putting (sorry arrangeing) them in a vase is that it takes up less space on the hard drive than taking individual photo’s!!
Talking about sweet peas, I have thought that my kitchen smelt particularly damp (we have had a lot of rain), then realised that I have had sweet peas on the window sill. I think that explains the smell. They are very strong and my kitchen is very small!
A most attractive display of July flowers Karen and lovely to see them close up. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling one hundred precent. Hope that you are soon over whatever it is. Take care!

So sorry you’re not feeling well, Karen. I hope it passes quickly. What a creative way to present your blooms though, and such a beautiful arrangement. Love the colors!
Yes, Bloom Day is an excellent way to take stock of what’s going on in the garden. Weeds and overcrowding are going on in mine at the moment. It may just be dry enough to get out there and remedy some of that today. Fingers crossed for warm, sunshine and blue skies!

Sorry you are feeling under the weather, Karen – on the other hand, I think this is a wonderful way to show flowers for GBBD. It’s a lovely, cheerful and pretty arrangement. I’m glad the blue and purple season is coming to an end and we are coming into orange now. Feel fine soon.

Hope you are feeling better Karen. Lovely pictures. I don’t have a lot of blue which is a pity as blue flowers really attract the bees. Val

Beautiful! I love it!
Something about the arrangement reminds me of Cider with Rosie where Laurie Lee’s mother is so excited about the garden that she grabs handfuls of blooms and fills every vessel in the house. It has the same exuburance – but probably much more impressive specimens.
Oh it’s beautiful – you deserve a much better mark than that! Such a range of colour and form, I’m totally envious.
