Remember in 1991 when we had the wrong kind of snow for British Rail to keep the tracks clear, well I have the wrong kind of images for the image editing workshop! No seriously, amongst my 1,000’s of images - I never seem to have taken photos of interesting doorways, signs, vintage writing or wonderful faces. [...] […]
The weather here continues to be amazing. With glorious days, lots of sunshine (no coats needed). And clear, clear sky – meaning the night-time temperatures drop to about -7c The plants are confused – but I’m happy […]
Hi Karen – it is my most favourite plant in the garden this year, which I grew from seed – Black cow Parsley, which germinated in March 2008
I love it

Oy. The brilliant beauty took my breath away. This is my first visit — I found you through Cate’s blog — and I am simply enchanted. I am a city dweller. My garden this year consists of a large potted geranium on the front stoop of our apartment building. The beauty that you have cultivated here is such a gift to these eyes. I especially liked the posts about the kind of work you put into it. Onward!
Joanne – the other plant is my black cow parsley Anthriscus sylvestris ‘ravenswing’ – which I am hoping will self seed in a few places. Glad you liked the picture.

This is a beautiful picture but poppies have taken over my garden in a ludicrous, thuggish way this year. Perhaps I should stop feeling overwhelmed and decide that if all I can grow is poppies that is ok?
Goody, a poppy to replace the ones you cut the other day. Mine are still only 6″ high.
Umm – some of mine are still a bit stunted too

K
So much promise !

Your poppies are still coming out? Mine seem to be all done for the year. Curious what that seedhead is next door.

They can be a bit thuggish – I agree – but they grow well here too – so I am thinking if you can’t beat them – let them grow wherever they want

Ah – anticipation. A wonderful thing.
