So, no prizes for guessing where we walked this weekend!
Yes it was the beach, we still have not made it to the Mountains.
Although it was a beautiful day – it was also very windy.
The light areas of sand in the picture above, is the sand that was being blown along the beach by the wind.
So walking to-day was ….. bracing to say the least.
Perhaps that is why there were so few people on the beach
However uncomfortable the wind, on days like today, it is impossible for me not to be totally in love with where I live.

My favorite place would no doubt be the ocean. Not living ‘in’ it (!), but near it…just about anywhere. I’m glad you love where you live, Karen. There’s nothing like being happy planted where you are;) I miss it, where I’m living, though I am very content, as well.
I know exactly what you mean about being in love with where you live. I’m the same way, 99 percent of the time. Today, with it being very cold and the winds blowing blizzards of ‘flurries’ in off the Bay…not so much.

Oh how lovely to walk along the beach. That is one of the things I miss about living in Britain.

Karen .. every time I see pictures of the ocean, where some one is lucky to live close by .. well my heart does a flip .. I miss the sea but I am glad that you are sharing your pictures … and I would haveloved to be walking there no matter the wind (I would just complain about it all later .. in the warmth of a fireplace ?? LOL)
Great pictures !! Joy : )

This could almost be Shirl’s Desert Island!! So where are all our plants!? Seriously – it looks great – a bit like the beaches in Brittany – at this time of year, empty of people and just great for a bracing walk on a weekend! Have a good week – Miranda

Bracing is a very good term for the beach today. It certainly got rid of any cobwebs. Perhaps we should have walked on the beach in high winds before chosing our three plants. May have cleared the thought process!! I think we may have got blown off a mountain if we had attempted one today.
It looks idyllic, doesn’t it? However, even a scene of snowy woods is wonderful. And we have that!
It’s always nice to be content with where one lives… and always happy to visit other places! Have a great day!

I’m envious that you live so near to the sea. On the other hand I like my ears to be defrosted while I’m on a walk

I love walking on the beach and often prefer winter to summer. My absolute favourite is on anglesey (not being coy, have had a sudden hole in the brain and can’t remember the name). It is the one with the ravens which fly over the sea, got it, Newborough Warren. I suspect it is nearer to you than it is to me.

Beautiful trip, Karen. If you hadn’t said it was cold and blustery I could have been sold on its being subtropically warm and swarming with parrots!

You really do live in a beautiful part of the world. Supposedly, my grandfather emigrated from this part of the country. It must have been difficult to leave his little village near such awe-inspiring scenery.

Yes, that looks like a “brisk” day. Nothing better than a cold walk on an empty beach, then a steaming bowl of spicy chili!
Speaking of beaches did you see what Little Earth Mother found on her stretch? Very strange.
